Wnt signaling in development and regeneration

We are interested in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway that has vital roles in development and tissue/organ regeneration. We aim to characterize new drug target candidates by understanding how tight pathway regulation occurs. Moreover, we aim at exploring the role of Wnt signaling in regeneration of the adult brain by exploiting the highly regenreative zebrafish. Zebrafish is an extraordinary genetic model that dislays liflong renegerative capacity in virtually all organs. We strongly believe that our studies will contribute to our understanding of the brain regeneration and treatment of neureodegenerative diseases.
