Ana Sorumluluklar

  • Laboratuvar plazmid, ve bakteri stoklarının üretilip saklanması ve envanterinin tutulması,
  • Mikrobiyoloji çalışmaları için bakteri besiyeri, kompetan hücre ve ilgili çözeltilerin hazırlanması,
  • Hücre kültürü stoklarının hazırlanması, takibi, envanteri ve rutin testlerin takibi,
  • Rutin PCR ve restriksiyon analizlerin ihtiyaç durumunda yapılması,
  • Laboratuvar sarf malzemesi envanterinin tutulması, siparişlerinin takibi,
  • Laboratuvar sarf malzemesinin, stoklarının ve ekipmanının kullanıma hazır olmasının takibi
  • İhtiyaç halinde deney protokolü optimizasyonlarının süpervizyon altında yapılması, protokollerin yazılması.
  • İhtiyaç durumunda araştırmacılara deneylerde yardımcı olmak,
  • Laboratuvarda deneyleri gerçekleştiren araştırmacıların biyogüvenlik kurallarına ve iBG-izmir kalite yönetimine uygun olarak çalışması için yardımcı olmak ve uygunsuzlukları raporlamak.

Aranan Asgari Nitelikler

  1. Üniversitelerin Moleküler Biyoloji ve Genetik; Biyoloji; Biyoteknoloji veya benzeri bölümlerinin lisans programlarının birinden mezun olmak,
  2. Moleküler Biyoloji alanında bilgi/deneyim sahibi olmak,
  3. Akıcı Türkçe konuşmak ve yazılı metinleri ve protokolleri anlayacak düzeyde ingilizce bilmek,
  4. İyi düzeyde bilgisayar kullanabilmek ve MS Office programlarına hakim olmak,
  5. Takım çalışmasına yatkın, iletişim yeteneği yüksek ve olumlu çalışma ortamına katkı sağlayacak nitelikte olmak,
  6. Düzenli ve titiz çalışan, öğrenmeye meraklı ve iyi iletişim kurabilen birisi olmak,
  7. S1 veya S2 biyogüvenlik seviyesine sahip bir laboratuvarda kimyasallar ve biyolojik materyaller ile çalışmaya engeli olmamak,
  8. Laboratuvar biyogüvenliği kurallarına önem vermek ve kurallara uygun çalışmak
  9. 30 yaşından gün almamış olmak,
  10. Erkek adaylar için askerlik görevini tamamlamış olmak,
  11. İzmir’de ikamet etmek ya da edebilecek durumda olmak.

Tercih Sebebi Nitelikler

  1. Hücre kültürü deneyimine sahip olmak,
  2. Türkçe ve İngilizce’de akıcı konuşmak ve yazmak,
  3. Klonlama programları, veritabanı programları gibi bilgisayar programlarını öğrenmeye açık olmak.

Position Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Production, maintenance and inventory of laboratory plazmid and bacteria stocks,
  • Preparation of bacterial media, competent cells and required buffer solutions,
  • Production, maintenance and inventory of cell culture stocks, follow-up on routine tests,
  • Performing routine PCR and genotyping assays,
  • Keeping inventory of lab consumables, collecting order requests from team mates and ordering consumables,
  • Keeping the consumables, stocks and lab equipment organized,
  • Optimization of experimental protocols, typing and storage of lab protocols in an accessible format,
  • Assistance in experimental procedures when assigned,
  • Assisting in maintenance of a safe lab environment according to biosafety regulations and iBG quality requirements. Reporting of biosafety violations to the lab supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

Eligible candidates must:

  • Have a BSc degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics; Biology, Biotechnology or a related field.
  • Have a strong background in molecular biology.
  • Speak Turkish fluently and English at intermediate or a higher level. The successful candidate shall be confident in Turkish communication, and shall understand written text and protocols in English.
  • Have good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Be good at team work and willing to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Be an organized and meticulous person with good communication skills.
  • Be able to work with chemicals and biological materials in laboratories at either S1 or S2 biosafety level.
  • Be aware of the biosafety rules and work accordingly in the laboratory.
  • Not be older than 30 years of age.
  • Must have completed military service (applicable for male candidates).
  • Reside or be able to reside in İzmir.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with cell culture techniques.
  • Fluency in Turkish and English.
  • Being open to learning cloning software, database software etc.

Under the Researcher Links scheme offered within the Newton- Kâtip Çelebi Fund, the British Council and TUBITAK are funding the workshop coordinated by Christian Eggeling and Gunes Ozhan. “Cellular Imaging Techniques Workshop” will be held on 16-20 October 2017 at DEU iBG-izmir.

We are now inviting early career researchers from the UK or Turkey to apply to attend this workshop. All travel and accommodation expenses of the researchers, who are selected to participate in the workshop, will be covered by the Newton- Kâtip Çelebi Fund Researcher Links Programme.
